Performance Assessment of TSO–DSO using Volt-Var Control at Smart-Inverters

The massive penetration of distributed energy resources (DERs) in distribution networks provides a strategic opportunity for the system operator (DSO) to coordinate assets appropriately and offer services transmission systems. IEEE std. 1547-2018 introduced control mechanism enable power electronic converters (PECs) several services, including voltage regulation by controlling reactive injection/absorption; this type PECs is also known as "smart inverter". participation smart-inverters with novel customer-centred piece legislation markets provide DSO powerful tools enforce very positive TSO/DSO interactions. This research paper presents comprehensive assessment steady-state performance provided at TSO – system. includes analysing main indicators using time series considering short term (24-hours, 1-minute resolution) long-term (one-year) horizon.
